Hi Im very new to the magic world about 4 months now but have been
interested since i was quite young all the mystery made me want to know
how to do it i own a few bought tricks such as a TT 'the web' and a
appearing cane im into card magic at the moment but struggling to find any
decent free tricks to learn sorry if im rambling but i have no idea what to put
in this box when trying to explain things to me go slow and dont expect too
much. Oh yer my name is Guy im 16 and live in suffolk and my favorite
magician is derren brown mostly cos i dont know many others.

Bonjour Monsieur,
If you come from the same part of Suffolk that I do, I can understand you trying to add a bit of magic to your life!
Don't know too many free resources, my best advice is to join a magical society (Ipswich has a good one, although I'm not a member), there they can help you with friendly advice and guidance. Alternatively buy yourself a DVD, video or book. Personally I recommend Ellusionist Crash Course 1 for card tricks, Richard Kaufmen Basic Card Technique for sleights (wish I'd had them when I first started), on the book side I can't recommend Paul Xenon's Street Magic enough for an overall trickfest. If you're worried about the cost try and grab a second hand version.

cheers i've been looking for dvds and books for absolute beginners but they all use complicated terminology which i dont understand and make me feel stupid

In that case I'd definately get The Ellusionist video, very clear detailed beginners guide (wish I'd had it when I started cards).
I tried to learn card slieghts when I was 15 but got put off for years, cos I got a book that I didn't understand and thought that I was out of my depth. Then years later a friend of mine showed me some basic stuff and I never looked back. The main thing is simply to practice and don't get worried if you don't understand something immediately. You could always ask someone or find a different effect you do understand and work on that, magic is after all a very personal art.
