Strike Vanish

Postby Pitto » Mar 8th, '06, 21:06

Hi all,

Im sure this isn't an original idea but Ive never been taught it so I thought Id see.

Most magicians perform this by tapping the coin twice (making noise) then striking and vanishing the object (noislessly)

I hold the pen further down so that on the time when I vanish the coin the noise is made which gives the impression that the coin vanished when hit.

Thoughts welcome,

Like I say its probably rubbish or unoriginal, but whatever...

Cheers,

Chris Pitt (AKA Pitto)

Great idea!

I had never thought of the fact that the vanish didn't make a noise, but it does make much more sense. It probably also strengthens the vanish as people will assume that you can't have done what you did as they could hear the tap.

i actually already do it this way. i;ve never really thought about it.
since i do most of my magic in busy bars and clubs i never really think about how much noise I'm making since it doesn't make any kind of difference!
hmm, i will ponder this in a quiet room

Cheers, it occured to me when I was messing about with it and it sort of happened by accident.

I just thought it made the vanish loads better.

understandably so. rather than "oo look, it's vanished" its like "#CHING# oo look it's vanished"
nice idea! i like.

now if only this applied to the silly amount of noise i make while doing a pass

It would be good if every trick required noise.

Not that I want to change the subject but often I find people make the pass harder because they hold the cards too tightly.

One of the best sourses Ive come across is actually Born To Perform even though he doesn't go into to detail and Sankey's 45 even though he doesn't speak!
