Throw Vanish

Postby Dominick » Mar 11th, '06, 04:48

Okay. This is my problem. I have the move down to a science. But now when it's "gone" I'm not sure of a move to get it back...All the moves I do are kind of corny and give the secret away...Help?

Thanks,

Well I kind of have the same problem, I'm guessing you're talking about coin sleights. You have to do the reversal of the moves, and when I vanish it, I always manage to flash the coin somehow. I guess it's important to look at your angles very carefully in the mirror, also using it accordingly. If someone is a head above you, I wouldn't use it, if someone was much shorter than you (For example, kids at birthday parties) I wouldn't use it either. I have BoBo's modern coin magic but it's pretty tough to comprehend without actually seeing it.

Sorry, I guess I should have specified. I meant the card version. Thanks for the idea with the coin version though.

Well, the position you end up with the card after the throw vanish is very versatile so just think of some things you can do with a card in that position.

For example, try doing it face-up so the card is face-up, then reach out with the deck and catch it (except it's invisible, of course). Then you can make it visible with a wave of your hand over the deck ;).

Or else, how about taking another card, an invisible ;) one, and throwing it, except you throw the visible one instead so it looks as if you have just thrown the invisible card and it has become visible.

Clear as mud.
