In its basic form:

Spectator is asked to think of a card, ANY card

Magician produces a box of cards, opens them, and there is one card which is turned over in the deck. It's the thought-of card. Instantly.

If you do own the trick read the instructions.

One hint here: There is one good method to remember all the pairs.
(Guess this isn't exposing since this aspect is in an other topic too)
From there on, follow Seige's instructions...

to ask a question like that, to me sounds like you do not even own the trick, i do not own the ID but i own the much similar brainwave deck, they use the same principle, so read the instructions as advised in the above posts and you will see how, like i say that is if you even own the trick????

For a great presentation, look at Bill Malone's On the Loose series.

For some great subtleties look at Miracles for Mortals v1 by Geof Williams.
