There are a fair few IT tutorials out there. Michael Ammars "Easy to Master Thread Miracles" is one that jumps to mind.

IT can be used in anyway you see fit. Depending on how you use the IT and set it up you can float cigarettes to your mouth, vanish and then float a borrowed ring, MELT a coin through your hand visibly (this is an effect known as MELT and can be bought online as an instructional video).

One thing I like to do with IT is whenever I'm on an evening out I'll set myself up unnoticed and make napkins or empty cigarette packets move momentarily. Oh the fun I have had when talking to someone and they say"did u jus see that? the napkin moved..."

Spinning coins that float in the air from one hand to the other and back inti your pocket.

How big is your imagination? If your imagination is big and your objects not too heavy then there is a million and one things you can do!!

I was about to write an IT question and I caught this forum running so excuse me whilst I hijack it slightly. I've only ever used loops before and have had great reactions using them but boy are they pricey, especially when I keep accidently snapping them.
So I was looking into maybe just buying some IT but there is loads of different sorts on the market. Which is best?

Also I've noticed there is stripped and unstripped but don't know what this is. If explaining this involves exposure then please PM me. I've used the search function as I'm sure this has been discussed many times but I've not found a beginners guide to IT apart from getting a dvd although I may be doing that once I get to grips to the basics

I knew we'd discussed this aspect before so I did a Search and found there are zillions of previous posts about IT, Loops and many other variations so it would probably take a weekend of ploughing to get through all of them! However one of particular help might be http://www.talkmagic.co.uk/ftopic4585.p ... alth+loops - perhaps no longer available from that source but a PM or two on TM might be worthwhile  !

Thanks for that.

However the stealth stuff sounds pretty good and might give that a shot.

But a person new to IT work is faced with lots of choice: ITR 2000, loops, pet 2.0, Z-webs, stealth etc. and although the reviews cover individually how good the product is there seems to be no opinion stated upon which is the "mac daddy" of the IT's on the market.
I suppose though it does come down to personal choice unless there is a market leader ahead of the bunch on this one.

Yes, me too.

I see the
ITR 2000 SUPER /MICRO
http://www.penguinmagic.com/product.php?ID=210
http://www.penguinmagic.com/product.php?ID=57

And I wonder which to get. How does it retract? As it has no motor, and I can:t see much from the pic. I:m starting with floating cards but thot may as well get a reel now instead of paying shipping later one.

Do these use normal thread or special branded refills?
