DL

I've been doing magic for quite long now and my DL is pretty good near invisible.

But I was just wondering is there a DVD dedicated to this sleight?

Im specifly looking for a DVD because I've read about it, learned it and now want to see it performed properly.

And wondering about the different types of DL.

Thanks

Jamy Ian Swiss at the South Tyneside International Magic Convention last year performed a card masterclass.
He recommended the strike double (no set up)
He recommends leaving packs of cards around the house so you can just pick one up and do a DL cold as you walk past.
If you can't hit it first time regularly you need more practice.

This is just one of the many DL's out there, but a very good way to practice.

Regards

Shanester

PS www.youdomagic.com has a great download on the strike double, and it is written up as Dr Daleys Invisible DL in the Stars of Magic

There are actually 8 Daryl DVDs about Card Sleights - Encyclopedia of Card Sleights.
Volume 5 has a large section on Double Lifts.

Yea, Greg Wilsons Double Take-DVD is all about the dl. I have it and I truly recommend it if you want this move down correctly. There are also some tricks/routines on the DVD that use the DL.

Some of the Jay Sankey dvds have some DL's in. The ones i know about are:
Jay Sankey 45
The Sankey/Sanders session volumes 1&2.

WARNING: There are only a couple of tips on DL's so dont get the dvds for just that reason. But if you are into close up magic then i would get these DVDs anyway because they are pretty cool.

Its funny I used to do my double lifts just one way and now I find i do them a ton of different ways. However im starting to find its not good lol. people get suspicious when you are picking cards up different all the time haha. Ive never been caught yet well only if i screw it up bad but just go with the way it suits you best.

Yeah - the Double Take dvd is outstanding...great colour changes too...

the only tip i could offer really is to make sure you always turn your cards over the same way everytime, even if you're not doing a DL...that way youre selling it to your audience that its just a natural function...
