G'day from a newcomer

Postby formandalor » Mar 15th, '06, 11:17

Hi all. I am from Australia and I am 16 years of age. I joined these forums because I absolutely love magic, and I really love to make people happy. I'm aiming to be a doctor, however while I'm still at school, or even in the future, I'd like to impress some people.

thanks for the opportunity to be on here,
formandalor

and a pleasure to meet you all.

Thankyou I have absolutely no doubt I will enjoy it here. Also, just a question, where do I go to learn simple tricks on here, if I may ask?

thanks :D

I'm afraid this is not an exposure site but we can guide you to some great DVD's or books....

This site is for magicians of all levels to talk to each other, offer advice and tell each other about tricks we purchased etc. Exposure is not a good thing for obvious reasons. You will still enjoy your time here. As this is an open forum it would be a bad idea to discuss how tricks are performed. It would not be fair on people who have paid for a trick and not fair on the creator of the trick etc.

Greetings and welcome to TM! The guys have already covered the reasons why we don't give out methods but what you will get in most cases are tips and hints to help perform a known effect even better. If you're interested in rope magic then there are several excellent demo vids of routines to inspire and amaze, the card guys have tons of demos on complete tricks, flourishes and so on, and there are some rather nice coin effects in the competition area. Dunno about the rest of the TM members but I reckon all that's far more worthwhile than just explaining the bare bones of the trick  .

Welcome - if you're interested in learning card magic see the DVD link in my signature - it's a great resource for learning sleights with cards. Highly recommended!
