i learnt my DL from the ambitiousx card rountine performed by brad christian from ellusionist. Althought they may be batter sources of learning a good DL, brads teaching techniques are probably one of the best out there

There's a whole DVD on DLs by Greg Wilson called Double Take I don't have it but I've heard good things about it and I imagine it's good.

Born To Perform teaches a second method but you would be wasting your money buying it just for that.

Cheers,

I've been doing magic for quite a while now and I've never had a problem with using a pinky break.

If you really don't like using it, you could go for Lee Asher's Diving Board Double.

As has been said here, what's wrong with using a pinky break?

If you really don't want to use one learn a strike double (not sure where) but I don't think you really need to.

Thanks for the help. Pinky break is my best DL at the mo. Any tips on how to get one without having to lift the top card off first?

- You can use you're pinky to pull down at the back
- You can pull up with your thumb
- You can just push the cards over with one hand and pull them back getting your break

There's three ways for ya. I've been really uncomfortable with my DL recently. Must work on it more. I've been practicing Dr. Daley's "Instaneous DL", as it looks so clean.

Any chance of a video of this diving board double Steve? I couldn't find a demo on the website.

When you DL with a pinky break, you should never put them back on the pack flush (that is square with the rest of the deck). They should always be outjogged an inch or so.

It looks nice and natural and it means then that for the DL back over, you don't have to mess about with breaks or anything. Just pick the 2 cards up and turn them over. Simple :D

Hope that helps!

You wont find much better anywhere and it's nothing - a rigmarole with a few bits of paper and lots of spiel. That is Mentalism

There's no video of it on Asher's site. If you have the System, there's a clip of it. Maybe MVD might have it? Otherwise, go to Asher's site to buy it. Basically, its a move where no break is required and the DL can bepushed off in a diving board action and the cards can jump up without breaking apart or just do it normally without the need of the cards flying up. A flourishy yet convincing DL.

I like R. Paul Wilson's double lifts more than the Asher's. Check out this video, it's on his Double your Pleasure booklet with 2 other DL's. Also it's cheaper than Asher's. ($5)
