Oh good, a Google Video fan...

Comments:
  • When you did the Tilt you were bending the corner of the card up at the break which sort of ruined the illusion for me. Try letting go of the pack with your ring finger which will let the card straighten out. In fact, you did that for all your breaks.
  • There was a bit much showing of the deck with the Shapeshifter - it should be: take card, put in deck, turn over top card, snap. I can see on camera :)
  • The Reversed Card was quite nice. One way of doing the move if you're not on camera is to take the card out of the deck then set the deck on the table as you do the move. When you pick up the deck after doing something with the card the move will be done.

If I sound harsh, sorry, I don't mean to :). The videos were good, it's just minot tips and tricks...:D

Shapeshifter - Very good. Was done very smoothly, and the only cirticism I can offer is this:

Why put the card back on top of the deck? I mean obviously we know why, but I think it would look more striking if you prepared it beforehand a bit. Otherwise it looks a bit out of place and may arouse suspicion.

Reversed Card - Very good. Although (I don't know if this was for any reason other than what I'm thinking...) your right hand moves a bit too much whilst the view is obscured by the card. If that's where you do "the move" you could try and nail the move a bit smoother. If it's not, then well done!

Twist And Shake - I liked it. The only criticism I have is your unatural handling of the 4 queens. But I don't suppose a layman will notice once the effect is done. In fact, if I didn't do this very trick, I probably wouldn't have noticed so I wouldnt worry about that one too much.

All in, solid routines and with a bit of practice they can be perfect

You wont find much better anywhere and it's nothing - a rigmarole with a few bits of paper and lots of spiel. That is Mentalism

Thanks for the comments.
The overbent corner in the Shapeshifter was a mistake that I also saw, but I had SO many attemps on the videos and it was 2am when I did em, so I just thought it will do it.
About the Reversed Card's hand movement, well for camera it moved a bit too much. For people it doesnt actually matter, cause im doing while all eyes are on the card. Sometimes when Im doing it to more than one person, then I first tell em not to look at the card, and when they are all ready to look at it, Ill tell em to look, then do "the move"
Also thanks Kati for the tip on how to do the move in Reversed Card. ;)

I was impressed. Well done.

You've got to remember that a lot of people have no idea on how this would be done so they'd be blown away with the mystical part.

Prctise makes perfect as they say. But the more you practise to an audience the better it will all come together.

Good job.

given the amount of posts you put up saying "i can see how that's done" or "i saw that straight away" or your "the magic happens on the 28th second" on runes mental card, I'm impressed you're brave enough to put your own videos on. i also wonder how you'd react if i just simply posted "yeah, i know how that's done".
i didn't realise people still did that reversed card effect, the erdnace change was a nice idea but i don't like ending on decks that can't be inspected.
oh, and learn a thumb fan!

i don't mean this as a critisism again you (just a dig in general) but; am i the only person who thinks "oh god, another person thinking using black cards make them seem better at magic"?

I wouldn't mind at all if you even told everyone here how the tricks were done. And don't be so mean, where did I say that I think that using black cards makes me seem better at magic? :? Those are the only Bicycle cards I have, so I dunno, what else should I use.

Nice job on Shapeshifter. I'm going to be honest. After watching this video, I figured out how to do it. HOWEVER, I had purchased the DVD before-hand, although I don't have it yet. I don't believe in stealing tricks by watching a video over and oer again.

Reversed cards was really well done. I enjoyed this trick a lot.

Twist and Shake was good, but like EckoZero said, your handling of the queens was a little unnatural.

Very well done though. Nice Job.

Edit: Larry, I think you're being a bit rude. I notice that a lot with some of your posts.

Thanks,
Dominick

Don't act as if the deck is going to explode while you are holding it!!

You seem to be handling it very gently, and it detracts from the actual magic.

If you were showing 4 queens to someone, would you first lay them down on top of the deck singly then pick them up again?

Try and justify why you are doing that, or find another way to get the chosen card in the position.

I didn't understand why you showed the bottom crad, then cut the pack and showed us a card in the middle. That was unneccesary.

The rest was good :D
