King Rising

Postby Flash » Mar 2nd, '06, 03:10

Personally, I think it's top banana, I only got it about a week ago but the first few reactions I got were pretty cool (big gasps and bemused looks etc).
In the normal ellusionist manner the dvd is concise well taught (not to mention simple yet ingenious). I really like it, my only fear is that I'll muck it up and give the secret away... Must remember Flashy; practise, practise, practise!!!!

Self levitations seem to be the order of the day. I simply don’t like them and I don’t think that King Rising is much of an improvement on the Balducci.

I can't comment on the Ellusionist DVD as I don't have it but the king rising in general is difficult to pull off and only slightly less angle sensitive than the Balducci. This is all IMHO of course.

I don't think I will ever do the king rising levitation. Well I did it once for my family but that's it. I feel like a bit of a twerp doing self levitations. I do quite like criss angels one though. Although I'll never do that either

But yeah levitations are pretty cool but I think they look best on tv.

the teaching video is 10 mins well 10.11 to be exact and tis a good concept but i would say its more detectable then the balducci still cool though untill you get someone looking round the other side

Have just tried the King Rising again this time on my brother's girlfriend... What happened is this, she was convinced that I floated! Only prob was my brother came in as I levitated and stood slightly to one side, saw the technique when I landed and blabbed (brothers)!
I guess this shows just how angle sensitive it is (and just how annoying a badly placed brother can be).. However both of them did admit that King Rising looked pretty cool while I was floating..

Practice Flashy, Practice, Practice, PRACTICE!!!!!

I accidentally stumbled across the instructions posted somewhere on the web and from the first day it got even better reactions than i hoped for..its a killer..but its better not to rely on any one technique, mix them up if you dont want to get caught.so much better than balducci though i think.

Well I was foiled by my Brother at this so I thought I'd try this impromptu on my elder sister.. She was very impressed, kept going on about it, asked me to show her hubby the trick... So I said 'I'll show him something better' and perform a great little double card revelation with my gaffed ghost deck, that ends in a physical transformation of a card. Suffice to say he was blown away.. 'There you are' I say to my sister, 'how about that?'
'Yeah that was ok, but it's just a card trick isn't it.. I liked the REAL magic you did earlier, show him that!'

I despair...
