Fire Wallet

Postby Hitech » Mar 31st, '06, 22:13

First of all this is my first review so i hope you enjoy it. Ive enjoyed other peoples reviews so writing one myself would be the least i can do.

The Effect
You open up your wallet and big flames appear instantly. You close again and the flames dissapear. When you open once again your wallet looks just normal and is stuffed with credit cards, bills, whatever.

Cost
25£http://www.magicbox.uk.com/exec.php/product/ProductDetail/00620//
Got my one from ebay, 6£ and from the pictures its exact the same as the one on magicbox.

Difficulty
1=easy to do

Review
Well i dont know if you can call this a trick but i like it very much and i have some great ideas for using it in my tricks.
The wallet is working exactly as its supposed to but i dont know how long the fuel will stay before its totally evaporated.

Overall
Overall its working just as i expected so im happy with it. I wouldnt pay 25£ for it tho, but 6£ is a bargain. I think the flames will amaze the audience that much you have enough time to put in your mercury card folded card from your palm position as you open it the second time.
Well since this is my first review i have a bit hard time giving it a mark.
But since its working very well but seems a bit cheap ill give it a 7-8/10.

I hope you enjoyed the review. Im sorry about any typings you might find. Im only 15 years old and english aint my normally-spoken-language.

I do agree, the fire wallet is a great bit of kit (mine is a tadge unreliable though and never lights at the right moment, grrr)...

Do be careful with it as it can be quite a dangerous prop (over 18's I'm afraid) and always check the pads are stuck in properly as they do have a tendency on cheaper models to fall out whilst alight. Also be aware of the fire risk it poses and always inform a client (if using it professionally) of the effect and check it's ok to use in the venue (nothing like a sprinkler system to turn your flashy magic into a damp squib).
I saw a very interesting review on a forum that said about the consequences of using a wallet in various places (can't remember if it was here, if so maybe a helpful mod might provide a link). Supposedly if you use a fire wallet in Chicago, you're contravening several fire regs and could be liable for a $5000 fine. Not so good...

So the long and short of it is: nice effect but handle with extreme care!

I have the Jardonnet Kaps on Fire wallet. It is superbly made and works well as a Kaps (card to ) wallet and a fire wallet.
The appropriate parts are sewn rather than glued (which can be a problem is some makes).

This is a great combination of 2 pieces of magic.

I believe magicproshop has them
