Why does it have to be from there?

Magic books on cards you can't go wrong with The Royal Road to Card Magic. Anytime Anywhere would be awful for a complete begginer.

By the looks of it you are interested in DVDs aswell, Born To Perform is good and I have heard great things about Ammar's easy to master card...

Mark Wilsons complete course in magic is also a great place to start and its pretty cheap.

I haven't got Xtreme Beginerz but have heard it is great.

EDIT: RRTCM is available from www.magicshop.co.uk though it is cheaper elsewhere. There is also a 5 set DVD to go with it.

Cheers,

I'm not so sure about your choices, at least not for what you mentioned.

Xtreme Beginners is not a trick dvd in the traditional sense. It's a card manipulation instructional video. You can use the moves IN tricks, but this isn't actually a card trick dvd. If you want to do manipulation and things of that nature, go for it. But, if you're looking for card magic, I'd probably search elsewhere.

Black Tigers - I don't really care for them. The quality is nice and all, but after a short amount of time, the black starts to come off the edges, and once that happens the cards look terrible (to me, at least). However, this is down to personal preference - so if you like the cards, by all means snag a few decks and have fun!

Ultra Coin - I don't own it, it sounds cool though. I'm just confused why you put this on a list when you're talking about card tricks?

Anytime Anywhere - Almost anything by Sankey is great material, but I think I'd look at his other stuff for card magic. This one is more broad (which is fine, if you want) but if you're confining your search to card magic, he has other titles better suited to that (Revolutionary Card Magic, Front Row Sankey, to name a few).

For card magic, if you're a beginner -

Royal Road is a great start
Card College - Start at Volume 1 and work your way up (5 total)

For DVD's
Born to Perform is a great choice. Ask our own Katrielalex - I'm sure he'd love to help you with this one!

well im not really jsut going for card tricks, its more card and money tricks. and for the card manipulation, im gonna need it to pull off tricks so i might as well get a 'xtreme' version to make it look better. i might take away the coin and ad that royal road book, but we will see ::P

If ever I am asked which Magic Book I recommend, I have the same answer every time. "The Dave Campbell Legacy" You can only get it from International Magic in London, but it is by far the best book in my library and beats all my VHS/DVD's into a cocked hat. For £35 you can learn a whole act. Packed full of useable commercial routines. And clearly written, Illustrated. I take mine everywhere with me. (No joke!)

As a certain sportswear manufacture says...

"JUST DO IT!"

You will NOT regret it.

Sorry but believe me when I say that is no excuse not to own the 'DCL' You are UK based as you want to buy from Magic Box, and International's service with mail delivery is excellent. I always receive stuff very promptly, sometimes next day! Do it my friend, you can thank me later!

I was going to add that "Bible" called Mark Wilsons Complete Course, as it has all the basics you need, plus so much more on all forms of magic. Ideal for begginers or Pros.

Sounds like you made up your mind before you asked the question though, so not sure why you asked for advice?
