Abyss: Ultimate Coin in Bottle?

Postby chris2215 » Apr 1st, '06, 17:57

Hey Guys,

I posted a similar thread in a different forum, but realised it was probably better suited here.

I am working on a coin penetration routine. Starting with 'Infusion' from ellusionist.com, moving into Wayne Houchin's ‘Sinful’ and ending with a coin trapped in bottle effect and I thought ‘Abyss’ was perfect, but I am having problems.

The set up is unproblematic and so to is the sleights involved; it is the penetration I am struggling with.

Problems with ‘Abyss’:

10p will not work (nothing to do with size!)
2p is too strong, therefore wont work (those who own it will know what I mean!)
1p - it might work, but the bottom line is it isn’t trapped inside the bottle forever, so not worth it for me!

What coins do you guys use?

Has anyone worked it with a 10p or 2p?

If these leads to exposure someone PM me. I am really eager to end my coin routine with a coin trapped inside the bottle for the spectator to keep forever, I don’t think Abyss is the solution, any help would be appreciated?! Or if you know of another effect that would end this routine, I really want to give the spectator a souvenir for a lasting memory of the performance.

Thanks in advance.

Soda Can

Postby crispy » Apr 1st, '06, 20:26

Hi Chris,
I dont know the other effects you mentioned so if my reply is way off the mark sorry.

Could you not finish in a soda can ?

I too have Abyss and am very dissapointed with its limitations.

I bought coin in a soda coin recently and it is very very good, 10p is a very good coin to use and has posed no problem to date.

Cheers

Chris

I use 10p and have had great sucess with it. However, I don't use an "ordinary" 10p. PM me to find out more... (Without exposure, of course!)

Thanks for your reply - any reply is always useful.

Yes, in theory I could finish with coin in soda can, however - if you own it you will know that the coin is not trapped forever inside the can, where as with Abyss, it is inconceivable for a 10p to get inside the bottle, I just think it is an excellent way to end this type of routine.

I think I know what you are getting at here, but I will PM you to discuss further.

Thanks for replying guys. If anyone else has any other concepts of ideas, please post.

i heared what you said i know about "infusion" but dont know how "sinful" works
I just bought abyss its still isn't with me is with my brother but i'll get it soon i found out that it has some thing to do wiht a gimmick provided and the processes is explained in the booklet provided and it says that abyss is not limited to coins but you can also use rings, keys and even candy so why not borrow a ring "but a plain one" from some spectator and use that and then give it away

I personally wouldn't want to hand it out if it wasn't an 'ordinary' 10p (and if you mean one like the one I think you mean...)

No, it cant be signed. But with the visuality of it and the reaction from the spectator, a signed coin wouldn't make it any better of an effect IMO. Hopefully you understand what I mean. Its hard to explain.
