Penacoin is self working, looks pretty amazing, and involves a coin (it's just one trick though).
Coin Unique is self working and just amagzing, many possibilities for different effects too highly recommended.
Bite out coin and cig through coin also.

Just look around for gimmicked coins and things if you're looking for self working. If you are interested in coin magic though, get Bobo's modern coin magic. There are lots of tricks in there and a section on various coin gimmicks. I have to say, I don't think the learning curve is as steep as people think with coin magic. There's lots of stuff you can do without being able to do a classic palm etc. and there are some pretty easy to do vanishes in there.

easy magic

I hear what you are saying and I can sympathize. However, it's been my experience that after a while you will find that you will have to constantly carry your gimmicks around, possibly lose some, or be hindered by the fact that you cannot allow spectators to examine the coins.

Learning some simple slight of hand coin tricks to validate your skills and then if you insert a gaff coin no one will bother to examine them as you have already shown you are using real coins. Also you might find, as I did, that it is the skill that is the most satisfying and you are much more versitile when some asks "Can you do a trick?" and you don't happen to be carrying anything.

Just my opinion.

A couple of self working coin tricks:

Go to a tube station and put a coin on the ground. Walk away and come back in an hour - it will have miraculously vanished. No sleight of hand, suggestion, hidden mirrors etc. - it just works.

Put a coin in your pocket and sit down on a sofa. The coin disappears and reappears inside the sofa, or at least down the side next to the cushion. Ths doesn't always work - but it's amazing when it does.

Although - by far the best way to make money disappear is to read a magic catalog - works every time without fail (especially when looking for self working tricks  ). This effect also goes under the name C.U.P.S. in some circles.

There are similar effects you can do with a pair of socks.. but I've exposed enough here. Mods - please feel free to delete if I'm exposing too much.

By the way no trick, however self working, will make you "look like a real magician," unless you are one.

you're like Yoda.you dont say much, but what you do say is worth listening to....

Ammar's Complete Introduction to Coin Magic vid/DVD contains a self-worker with ungimmicked coins that's rather nice. But, in my opinion, it works better if you do it after one or two things using genuine sleights (because everyone is watching your hands furiously by then, which both helps you out and makes the effect all the more amazing). I'd recommend the vid anyway as a great introduction. Ammar really shows how to sell a sleight with timing, etc. He'll often even send your brain the wrong when when he's explaining the move to you.
