Ok now, the Pass is viewed rightly or wrongly as the sleight to learn above all else. In my view the double undercut does the job too - but it became a bugbear of mine to learn this move…I'd kinda come to terms with it via a Jay Sankey dvd as well as Royal Road and Expert at…

Yet I was never truly happy with it…Now, thank the lord who art Randy Wakeman- I am a believer! Praise be to him and The Monkees (well ok, Neil Diamond wrote it but I digress)…Though this dvd is made by MagicMakers who I believe occasionally get bad press (its seems mainly because of the innuendo ridden name of Rob Stiff) - the word 'sleight' is spelt incorrectly on the front cover, and there's a vaguely annoying double space on the by-line at the bottom too…but that's just me being a type-setting fool…

Anyway, Mr. Wakeman covers every variable on the classic and Hermmann pass really. Via the menus you can watch him perform each with a quick historical overview and breakdown of each pass. Each pass is repeated 3 times, one as the audience would see it, again with the card reversed, then thirdly from the performer's point of view…

There's also a purely visual learning section too - with quite annoying late 80s cop-show music. Mr. Wakeman suggests you pick 3 or 4 passes that suit you (sir) and get to (biddle) grips with them…

Overall

To be honest, £20 might seem a lot when the original move appears in a £10 book - but I must admit over the course of a weekend I've picked and learnt 4 superb passes (well ok - one is used as a colour change which is fantastic in my book) with how to give proper cover if you have people with 'burning' eyes and watch you hawk-like ready to shout "oy what did you just do there?" and immediately grab at your pack…

Short of snapping their fingers off with a bottle opener there's not much you can do about it eh…apart from buy this dvd…

obviously if you've been at this magic lark (rather than a mystic eagle) for years then you are no doubt by now completely at ease with your Pass, but for us beginners/intermediate types then I would urge you to get this - there might well be a pass that’s passed you by…see what I did there? Terrible wasn't it…

The amount of confidence I have now for this move is unbelievable in comparison to say a week ago..

I would say this and Double Take have been absolute genius teaching tools…

And, in a plug due to extremely good customer service from MoreMagicTricks.co.uk - I didn't even buy this dvd! I had originally ordered some bits n bobs from there - one item was out of stock for about a month or so, (pen-sation, which I'll review later) but they kept it on order for me. When that arrived Friday, MoreMgicTricks also included 2 free dvds for me for the wait! The Pass and a Bill in Kiwi dvd by Mr. Cloutier. Extremely generous of them indeed - I was very touched actually as they and MagicTricks.co.uk have always been a brilliant company…just fantastic customer service as far as I'm concerned…

Nice review. I think this dvd is released for just to be a give-away. :( I got mine from Penguin for free, and it's one of the greatest things I got for free there. (There is not much :) )
