Whoo things getting a bit too heated on another thread for old Flashy!! So time for some lighter conversation...

Has anyone read the Jonathan Strange books by Susanna Clarke? If not why not!?!?!

They are a blinding fictional read about a 19th century Britain where real magic and sorcery is creeping back into everyday life and I found them totally absorbing and inspiring. They are historically accurate (well apart from the magic bits)and paint vivid characters. although they are aimed at adults I would recommend any one looking to fill their Easter half term with excitement to read them asap!

I got all three in one volume and couldn't put them down. A great read for anyone, even if you don't give 2 hoots about magic. More a fantasy fiction gently woven around a very English early 19th century history tale

Get it!
