Hello guys,

I'm 23 years young. Started dabbling into card magic in mid 04, and recently expanded my knowledge in coin magic. So I'm fairly new to this hobby.

I just discovered this forum, and thought i might give it a try...

First impression, it has a unique and appealing merit system. To prevent laymen accessing the knowledge freely. However, i don't quite understand how this will work in terms of posting my topic of interest. I didn't see it divided into different sections (cards,coins,etc) like other forums. So where is the appropriate section to talk about each type of magic?

Hi and welcome!

We don't have separate sections for each type of magic as that would lead to far too many 'rooms' to moderate and make the place look and feel cluttered but if you have something you want to say about coin work perhaps then just start off in Miscellaneous and if it needs moving somewhere else we'll move it to suit.

The main thing to avoid is posting in, for example, Magician Talk something which isn't about a specific magician or something in Events which isn’t an event. Simple points but a lot of recent newcomers (!) have made such mistakes and a good read of the Stickies will help avoid other common mistakes of this kind! As long as what you post isn’t exposure then the thread will be all the richer for your input. Hope that helps,
