Hi im new to this forum and id like to introduce myself. My name is Aldis and I'm originally from Latvia but I live in Los Angeles. I always enjoyed magic but never really got serious about it but after seeing my friend do some crazy magic tricks it sparked my interest to pick it up again. Right now im a total newb at it but im practicing hard. Anyways I hope to get some good advice on this forum. Thanks.

Hey Aldis, i like to meet people who share an interest with me from around the globe :D . here are loads of good books and dvds out there for newbies like us. 'The practical encyclopedia of magic' is a great book with flourishes, forces, sleights, and over 120 tricks, both self-working and ones that are more advance. I reccomend this. 'Born to perform' is also a great dvd to start out with, the book or the dvd would be fine as they both cover the same sort of basics.
