Help! I bought a tt+folding coin: What do I do w/them?

Struggling with an effect? Any tips (without giving too much away!) you'd like to share?

First, look at the reference mateiral that you already have. If it appears too complex then one of the best ways is to break the instructions doen into smaller parts. Write them out it necessary.

Then, study each part carefully and ask for advice on the terms, or any other bits that you are not sure about. Learning properly is also about patience.
Thank you, and i 'll try. but the thumb is SOOO BIG

As long as it stays on when you move your hand around, then it should be ok. You can get them in different sizes though I think...

Where abouts did you buy your products from?
It should have come with instructions of some sort with a couple of effects to do.
If you are a begginer in magic, which you are. Its best to start off very very simple then gradually learn more complex effects. But even the most powerful tricks in the world are the simple ones.

Keep Practicing :D

Okay, thank you. I got my magic stuff from downtown, around 5 hours away, on a small trip. I've been able to do a few tricks with the TT, but not much.

some things to think about:-

how could i push a coin halfway through a table the all the way.

how could i pour salt from my empty hand.

how could i make a cigerete / fag vanish.

how could i rip a coin in half then restore it.

how could i show three coins then make one vanish simply by tossing it into my other hand.

best we can offer is to say look at the properties of the props you have and make a list of uses you could put them too then work out by experimentation how best to achieve them.

Whoa.. thats cool. I figured out the salt, cigerete, and rip a coin, and show three and make one vanish, but I simply cannot do the cigarette one (they are too big). The putting a coin through the table sounds AWESOME. How can I do that?

hey discoman, i know ive never approached u b4 but u seem to have these great ideas which may add on to my use of the folding coin, you said that you could show 3 coins and make then turn to 2, I thought this was achieveable with a flipper coin but it turns out i was wrong, could you please explain to me what u mean and perhaps tell me a few hints on how to achieve this ( if it is allowed of course :P)

thanks alot bro

It should be possible with a flipper coin. Actually it should be easier with a flipper coin. You can do it with both a flipper coin and a folding coin.

The Michael Ammar Live DVD has a great coin in bottle routine. That is the one that I use most for shows. As for an effect with a TT, I would say to do any good bill switch effect. The one I use the most is the Mismade Bill, it is an eye popper.

Hope this helps.
Good luck

mahoney,

Thanks for ure reply, i have always wanted to perform teh routine in which a join jumps from one hand to the other, and i only have a folding half. Thus i thought that i was unable to do the effect, if possible, i would greatly appreciate youyr help if you could PM me with info on how to do the effect with a folding coin, I would certainly be very grateful and thankful.

i hope this is allowed by the TM forums!

TT use

Postby B0bbY_CaT » Apr 18th, '06, 11:38

the 2 key points to remember when using a TT are "be careful of angles" and "act natuarally". since you already own a TT you will understand that from some angles a spectator cant see it, and from other angles they can. therefore... i am sorry to say this but there is NO SUBSTITUE for... get ready...

practice, practice, practice (in front of a mirror).

the more you do this the bettter you will understand the important "angles" and also the more natural your movements will become.

also, check out www.penguinmagic.com and similar sites. they hv a number of DVD's available like "25 tricks with a TT" and "Darwins Enc of TT Magic". even by watching the preview (since you know the secret) you will learn some great tricks... even though the technique is not shown on the preview.

but your best resources are practice, a mirror, and your imagination. it is one of the easiest tools to use in magic yet remains one of the most powerful.

good luck! and keep practicing!

The cigarettes are too big you say? well depending on what type of TT you have - hard or soft, (its still possible with either, but better with hard) think about what makes a cigarette smaller and then do the trick.............
