There is lots about the M5 to find if you use the search facility. Also known as micro 5 or pro PK kit.

Don't buy it new is my advice. If you look carefully around the net you can pick it up much cheaper

I would advise buying at least The Bat (if not the M5 system) before you go shopping for cheap versions of the gimmick. The ones on eBay don't come with routines, shimmed coins, rings or anything else.

The second time you buy go to eBay but first get some routines.

Sorry to bring an older thread, but I'm so excited! I actually just bought a Bat with a PK dvd and the M5 with accesories included for a little under $80!!

Edit: The products are factory sealed. The M5 also comes with a PK Book including a few routines and detailed instructions.

Thanks,

M5 System

Postby archimage » Apr 17th, '06, 00:11

I bought the M5 and am pleased with its "strength". However, the size of the device is a bit bulky and I generally do not wear clothes that allow me to use it. (I live in the desert called Albuquerque, New Mexico). That being said, without long sleeves, jackets look out of place, and pants get a little hot, but can be used, I haven't gotten much use out of mine.

I've moved back to card magic for the time being, but if anyone else has any suggestions as to better uses for the M5, I'd love to hear it.

I'm also watching the M5 forum to see if I can pick up some devious uses for it.

There's an M5 killer coming to NUMS soon, first was MegaBertha neo block, which in my opinion is pretty strong... but I am about to take delivery of the MonsterBertha... which hopefully will make the M5 look like a fridge magnet.

The M5 does, however, come with some excellent bits and bobs, so I won't try and sway your purchase, but the NUMS offerings come with routines and ideas too, and I hope they are much better value.

I'm not happy at all with the Bat. I think it's really kind of pointless. Also, I'm upset that the M5 didn't come with a steel cored penny, like it's supposed to. It said that it was discontinued for lack of materials or something...Either way, I'm angry.

The M5's fun though! :D

Oooh can't wait! Once you get one powerful magnet you start to want more and more powerful ones!

Hi there

The MegaBertha allows you to do anything an M5 can do, basically

With it, you get a harcopy/pdf download of GET FLUXED: SIZE MATTERS, which incorporates a few effects designed by me specifically for the NUMS MegaBertha

1. Pause: stop a watch, AND your pulse, on the spectator's command
2. Little Billy's Sad Ending: a sad little tale of a sad little boy
3. Birodancer: magic in the spectator's own hand is always amazing
4. Mr Neo: blood has iron in it, but the magician's blood has MAGNETS in it!
5. Phantazm: ever had a dream that you can move things with your mind?

Here;s a brief additional rundown of each effect...

1. Pause: does as it says above

2. Little Billys' Sad Ending: Story of a young lad who's dog died. So he used to make little pet animals from Plasticine, and train them to sit up, roll over etc. A wicked little effect which I have performed since I was about 12 years old.

3. Birodancer: a regular biro pen spins around in a spectators hand. They can even keep the pen!

4. Mr Neo: Using pure mindpower, you balance a 2p on top of a 1p. Or magnetise objects. As soon as you let them go, and give them to a spectator, the objects are back to normal.

5. Phantazm... a personal favourite. A borrowed banknote moves around with a mind of it's own as you explain that anyone who has ever TOUCHED the banknote leaves some of their kinetic energy with it, and it's passed through many hands.
The speccys may suspect you are just 'blowing' on the note, but to prove them wrong, you place an upturned wine glass over it!

All this and much more is possible, and the Get Fluxed: Size Matters booklet explains lots of different ways to utilise the MegaBertha

Thanks

P.S. Thanks for your speedy reply Seige :D

MegaBertha = M5 equivalent
GetFluxed: Special Edition = Raven equivalent

With Get Fluxed S.E., you get to perform just about anything you could do with a raven, and much more.
