Have the book prepared, keep it open in the same place until the spine cracks a little suggesting it will stay in place.

Then put the book down flat and smoothly and voila... it should stay!
Alternatively, have 2 little cardboard triangles cut out, and sellotape them to the back to make a stand.
The back wont be seen so it'll be fine.
Then it just goes down, in front of, done. Then pick up, done...

You wont find much better anywhere and it's nothing - a rigmarole with a few bits of paper and lots of spiel. That is Mentalism

CouLd You NoT uSe CapitAl leTtErs ranDoMly PleaSe? It does get annoying even when typing lol.

Use a hardback spined book so that it can stand up... like the Encyclopedia! :D

You could also try and find a method of showing the cloth front and back before doing the trick otherwise it'll just be suspicious.

It's an okay idea but IMO, it's not practical. Spectators want to see everything fairly and cleanly and if you can't show the front and back of the cloth, it's pretty hard.

It's interesting. It has the look of the kind of thing that's suitable for a stage illusion, rather than closeup or parlour IMO.

Interesting...

Good stuff. Best get a well behaved one - you wouldn't want it wandering off in mid performance, or widdling on the cloth :)

Good luck with it

I totally argee, its much smoother, and vastly improved.

Nicly Done :D

And using another book instead of the cloth gives that extra flare, because in this instance the simpler it is the more effctive it is, which you have managed well.

Hey MiniMindFreak

IMO i'd say your still a begginer, (a pritty good one), however if your tricks improve at the rate they are at the moment you should start going up the rakings. :D

Hope you see what i mean

Regards
