I've actually just started to take the time to read the books. So far I read the explanation of what astonishment is. I actually am at the first effect of the first book. I just happened to come by shape of astonishment by accident. I am thinking up a presentation involving counterfeiting quarters. My presentaion goes something like this "im going to show you how to counterfeit a quarter. If I do this a million times I will have made 250,000 dollars. Look at the date on your quarter( I got this idea because I showed this to my wife and for whatever reason she thought I was using a trick coin go figure anyhow) lets say the date is 1992. I put the quarter in the foil. And I have them verify the date. I put the coin back in spectators hand. I say aside from it being thin a lot of people say that if you flip a coin over(i have spectator flip coin) it has a tail side. If i just rub the foil on the coin you can see that there is now an image of the tail on the quarter. Do you like this presentation idea. And do you have anything to add or take away. i think the next time i can make it to a club meeting, im going to perform this effect.

I don't really see what is so good about shape of astonishment. It seems distinctly average to me. What is it that you like about it? Does it get good reaction?

I love Art of Astonishment, and most of the stuff in it is great. I have no favourites since it's so easy to look through it and find a new fav. With that said, I really like the thinking behind tic-tac, leaf, and earth shoes. The essays in the beggining of each book is also fun. The essay for book 3 is my favourite of that.

Currently Reading "House of Mystery" (Abbott, Teller), Tarbell, Everything I can on busking
