My Quick Vanishing Deck. Updated :D

Postby Delude » Apr 20th, '06, 20:05

Hey ll, i quickly reproduced a 'Vanishing Deck' effect which has fooled about 8 of my friends. Just thought i'd stick the url here so you can tell me what you think :D

[UPDATED] I sped up the process of taking the deck out of the box the first time and managed to keep the cards squared. Anyway, the same basically, just I'm wearin a black t-shirt and the trick is faster :D

apart from a slight miopic focus problem it was very cool, the first time you get the deck out of the box it seemed a bit strange oddly enough the deck looked tooo solid
vanish was excelent and unepected.

vanish was excellent i thought. i wasn't sure where you were going with it to begin with, it turned out good.
only fault i would say is that if it was a regular deck of cards, you wouldn't spend so much time, and so much effort, taking it out of the box, just made it look a little suspect.

Thanks, i'll definately work on that bit. I was having a problem iand i recorded it several times, this one wasn't as bad so i used it.

EDIT: found an excuse! Umm, i was getting the card out slowly so that the deck would stay square :D

LOL

Nice excuse. But won't work. :)

The cards come out quite evenly and even if it gets slightly messy, easy to square off again.

I just take my cards out of my box and they are still perfect square. At least with the way I take it out. grabbing by tip of top of cards and just pulling out.

I can't really say much as I don't know this one yet but why the last two cards? OK, don't explain. :) But I hope you get my point. Unless it was necessary. Again, I don't know this yet. But just in a spectators view, why? :)

Otherwise, yeh, take the cards out of the box quicker. As Larry said, it looks suss. I mean, the second time you took it out, it was fine. Didn't mess up too much or at all from what the camera could showed (I realised you can hide a lot of your mistakes and flashes with the camera's blurriness of poor quality. Love the camera).

That sounds like a really cool trick. I was astounded by this video...except for the long time taking the cards out.

Thanks,

You can reveal cards, actually that would be a freakin awesome thing to do :d Thanks, i ddn't think of thhst! ( i think maybe both cards would have be to forcded, you could just manage to get one freely selelected, it shouldn't be too hard.)

Thanks everyone :D

Yes. So with your remaining cards that you had, your routine could have been:

Spectator picks a card which you forced onto them. Maybe grab a second spectator also to get a second card. Do whatever you have to do and when you make the deck disappear back into your box, you hold their two cards. And where did the deck go? Back into your box.

I don't know if that's pratical or not but yeh. Do a routine with the remaining cards so it doesn't look strange.

It was ok. You seemed to handle the gimmicked deck as though it was a precious Da Vinci painting or a bomb. Try to make it look more natural.
