This ranges from nylon to kevlar (Kevlex, I think)

There's many ways to get thread: stripping down ladies tights etc.

But by far the easest is to just buy it from a magic shop, to be honest.

if my universal translater is functioning today then i belive its easy to strip bundles of thread though i havant done it myself similar to untangling fishing line only much smaller.

as to quality and avalability most magic shops carry it in many forms and most are quite happy to e-mail you a response regarding which is best for the particular trick you have in mind.

As Magicdiscoman says, what you get need is dependent on what you're going to use it for. Kevlar thread is very, very hard to see, but breaks easily. Kevlex is only very hard to see, but is much, much stronger. And then there's the elastic kind that is needed for other effects.

As an aside, I'd get pre-stripped, if there's a choice. It is more expensive, but stripping IT is so laborious, dull and, often, frustrating, that it's well worth it. My view is that I don't want to be lying on my death bed thinking, 'Hold on. I could have spent all those hours of my life NOT teasing thread, but I didn't to save two quid? Gah.'

I am selling kevlex and elastic, plus 'strippable' thread on my site from tomorrow, as an accompanyment to my STELTH LOOPS pdf.

I even include a guide as to how to strip thread easily from the spool ;)

(plug over :))
