I've tried to learn as much as I can from books however I often get confused in the instructions. Does anyone know somewhere in Ipswich where you can meet and learn of other magicians?

Yeah, the Ipswich Magical Society is the organisation you need. Look for any posts by Bananafish - he's a key member of the IMS, and will gladly help you out. I think (!) they meet the first Monday of every month. He'll be able to help you with more details, though.
