my color change - dunno the name

I dunno what this is called. Oz said it was based on the Herman pass.

obviously in real life (?) you wouldn't do it one after another so there wouldn't be the awkward delay trying to ready the next card. I left the sound in so you could hear. I'm assuming there is no way to do the change without making the sound.

it seems to work okay, except the way of effecting the change looks a bit unnatural. My fingers are barely wide enough to cover a whole card, so I have trouble doing the last part at any speed.

I would appreciate any comments and advice you can give :)

For the first one when you pick up the king of diamonds, make sure when you pick up the 'card', that you don't make them look too thick, that was a giveaway for me.

Eh?????

What King of Diamonds? Thickness?

Anyways... I thought it was fairly well performed! The sound isn't much of a problem. You could do something like "Oh, this wasn't your card? How about when I do this... 1, 2, and boom *do the change*". *Wait for the ooo's and arr's*

I learnt this in the context of an ace assembly. Its supposed to be done on a small packet of say up to 10 cards.

If you get RIFF$2AVI LISTp"hdrlavih85‚¿@ðLIST etc means you should copy/paste instead of clicking. TM's link killer kills links.

The link worked fine for me. Anyways, usually when doing these, it's only once, and also, you'll be talking. Doing it once will prevent audience from suspecting too much, unless it is too obvious (which yours isn't) and the talking should cover the sound of the cards.

Try a routine out and record it. Then playback and see if your talking covers the sound or not.

Yea got it working now. Thanks for the hint. What comes to performing it several times what bitsnpieces commented I agree with him, but I guess you just did it in the vid to demonstrate the colour change, not doing it several times to an audience.
The change looks very good I'm sure it would receive great respons from an audience. But it still looks a little stiff, like a robot move if u know what I mean. Make it super smooth and it'll be even better! The last move when you push the card over the other one is quite obvious what is happening. Maybe if you could keep the right hand in a more vertical position when you "change" it would be less a give away, if you understand what I'm saying...
Nice change anyway!

I agree with Stevebo, I don't think sound should be too much of an issue. Even from the video, it didn't seem that loud either. Performed at a pub or outside, ambient noise would drown most of it out anyway, followed by "!!!!!" from the audience :D. I think if done a bit more smoothly, no one would suspect the "movement" of the cards, sound or not.

Good job!

It was well performed, and it is the Window Change from Jeff McBride's DVDs/Videos.

IMO, If it is done quicker it looks better (eg. your hand covers then comes off in the space of a couple of seconds), but it was still excellent!

Penguin do this, it's simply called The Colour Change and is based on the Herman Turnover Pass. (Like you said)
