Hi I'm Andy, I'm 23 from York and I'm a complete beginner.

I'm currently reading magic for dummies and Paul Zenon's Street magic books and can perform some of the effects from them although I haven't performed them for anyone else because I lack confidence and am scared people will figure them out.

I also have both of Criss Angel's masterminds dvds. I'm interested in learning more magic and performing for people in the future

Hi and welcome! Paul's books are very good starting points for any Magish so just work at them to suit your own pace and style and you'll soon summon up courage to try them out on someone .

Another good thing to start with is Mark Wilson's Complete Course in Magic. It sounds more daunting than it is

Have fun, learn the tricks then do them for either a complete stranger who you will never see again or someone you know really well.

I've got Mark Wilsons book on my shopping list on magictricks.co.uk. Magic for dummies is a bit c*** (not the best) I must admit the tricks in it aren't very impressive but everyone has to start somewhere!

Thanks. The Street magic book is really good but am a bit stuck on the chapter about coin magic. I guess they are going to need a bit more practise
