Enhance my band's act!

Postby Silkenone » Apr 30th, '06, 21:43

Hi chaps and chapesses.

Well, it's been a year since I started to seriously get into this magic business - and I'm loving it more and more each day. Especially cards, close-up and mentalism. I'm an obsessed loon with third degree C.U.P.S.

But, in my introduction thread of around a year ago, I said I'd like to incorporate a few illusions into my band's act - and I'm glad to say that's happened.

During our rendition of Therapy?'s Knives, I do knife-thru-arm. In Rob Zombie's Supercharger Heaven, my hands catch fire. In Black Sabbath's Symptom Of The Universe, I do needle through arm.
And, at some point during our silly encores I whip out the D'Lites as a bubble machine fills the stage with loveliness.

We, Captain Mildred (go on - Google!) are a pub/party band - so you can imagine the surprise factor when we start doing Alice Cooper-esque stage stunts.

But I, being a greedy ol' git, want more.

So.....can anyone suggest any more affordable illusions, the more grotesque the better, which will complement a good hard rock/punk/metal set?

Thanks in advance, my lovelies.
xxx

One of the best phrases I've heard in a long time - I'm still chortling about it 10 minute after I first read it :D ! Anyways, to save everyone the trouble of Googling, here's the link - http://www.captainmildred.co.uk/

Heh, thanks Mandrake!
Magnet's over a decade old, but I still have a soft spot for that song (and Shark, come to that). Where did all that angst go? It's impossible to write a rock song without it.
I reckon I've been far too content since my pressure fan came good.

Slasher from http://www.blackhart.co.uk/page55.html

if you ever fancied cutting your throat mid-song...im sure a blood capsule loaded in as you bend forward might well help you gargle a bit too as you sing...

maybe have a sheet or canvas somewhere too and spit out a load like a jackson pollock gone bad...performance art...or use it as a flyer?

There's a Killer on the Loose - thin lizzy...just as he finishes a solo...slash his throat...

Let it Be, or rather Let it Bleed - beatles...do your wrists then pretend to pass out at the end...

IM sure i've seen magic wands that fire blanks too...
