And another one

Hi everybody, my name is John and I've been working on my card skills for about 6 months now. I've learned much of 'Royal Road' and am now perfecting what I've learned and thinking about my patter, which to be frank, is downright awful.

Hope to be able to learn from some more experienced people on these boards and see if there are people in my area also suffering from card addiction. :D

I'm not in your area, but I seem to have taken to using a deck as chewing gum for the hands!

Hi John,
Youv'e certainly started with a good book. Patter is difficult. You need to know what your personality is going to be and start working on patter to match it.
Concise words are good. Don't ramble.
Hope that helps

Hi Johnny and welcome to TM

A nice place is Hitchin, I lived in Henlow for about 4 years in the late 70's.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.

The NHS should recommend taking up cards to help with smoking - as long as I'm dribbling cards or practicing my pass I'm ok! (gave up a month ago, musn't think about all those lost opportunities for cigarette tricks )

Patter is difficult. You need to know what your personality is going to be and start working on patter to match it.

So far I seem to have naturally gravitated towards the 'learner magician who gets everything wrong but triumphs in the end' persona, which has worked to my advantage several times!
