King rising levitation Ellusionist

The Effect
Ellusoinist wrote:The performer talks about harnessing power from the earth. He asserts that a technique has been found to levitate from the ground — just a few inches — and they will see this happen visibly.

The performer is seen to rise three to four inches — and hover — momentarily. He immediately walks forward to the spectators and they can examine his feet, shoes, and anything about him — there is nothing to find because there IS nothing.

well this aint the whole truth there are bits in between which you have to perform(ill lay it all out):

-tell people your gonna perform a trick (i dont tell people im gonna levitate)
-take of your jacket and swing it around to proove no wires
-then say "you see some people perform this with a jacket infront of thier feet" waving your jacket infront of your legs
-take the jacket away and levitate
-put the jacket back at your legs to say see "i didnt need to cover my feet"
-walk towards audiance to proove no gimmicks

Cost
$23.95 DVD

Difficulty 3 (hard to get quite high more then about 1.5")
(1=easy to do, 2=No sleights, but not so easy, 3=Some sleights used,
4=Advanced sleights used, 5=Suitable for experienced magicians only)

Review
well its well thought out and a psin off of the balducci but well hidden where as you can see how the balducci is done at the right angle this you cant

well tought and no gimmicks which is good for some becaus eothers you need to buy equiptment to perform them. but for what your getting i really wouldnt brand it at that value. maybe $16 wouldeve been perfect.

Overall

5/10 ver angley and you really need to be crowd control aware to be able to stop people having an inquisitive look round the side.

hope this helps those of you wanting to buy this effect

I would have to agree. This is yet another ellusionist ripoff. Maybe it should have been printed in a magazine.

No arguments there, it was just intriguing that the same reservations were being made 4 years ago and it's good to link these things at times so readers get the full picture. KR seems to have had a lot of negative coments here and elsewhere so I think we can all draw conclusions. Thanks for your review, always good to have fresh input!

what i seem to find amazing is how many great comments there are about it on Ellusionist's site and none what so ever contradicting it! funny or what?

dont get me wrong some of the stuff they have i enjoyed and it got me started like ninja but others theyre taking the "micky"!

i do like some of the stuff they have like the ghosts and tigers but then other stuff like revolution hmm we all have our opinions on that one!

Here's an interesting levitation. No wires, no cranes. You can even see under the box!

In the spirit of recognition, but with out revealing the method, I'll say b3ta.com and leave it at that

Beat that Ellusionistas!

(I'm in a very silly mood today)

Tee hee.

People of a certain age who remember The Professor from Vision On will probably love his site. For everyone else, you'll love his site. It's just good.

His name's Sheep and he lives at sheepfilms.co.uk. I don't actually know him, but I think he should be on the telly box an awful lot. Lad's a genius, innit. Definitely a form of magic.

personally, i think this trick is quite tricky to do if you're performing in front
of more than one spectator.
in general, just perform Balducci. if they know it, show'em that one.

Someone showed me the king rising levitation.

I must say I wasn't hugely impressed and pretty much figured it out... so he showed me how to do it and I was right except for one detail.

I don't think £15 is that bad a price though. as has been said... crowd management is an important issue

You wont find much better anywhere and it's nothing - a rigmarole with a few bits of paper and lots of spiel. That is Mentalism
