- One of the reasons I don't like Ace Assemblies is that there is a lot of dead time in them. Once you've dealt down the piles then you show that the aces are gone and that's most of the effect. In other words, there is not much magic in the routine relative to the time taken to show the aces gone (compare this to an AC routine!). McD fixes this a bit by showing the aces vanishing each time but I still don't like the premise.
- I know it's hard to misdirect a camera but it's still possible
. If you are performing this to people don't do the thing you need to do to make the routine work under any attention. Relax, straighten up, and make some comment. Then do it when nobody is paying attention.
[reread]When I reread this it sounded really harsh - I didn't mean it to be harsh (really!). It was excellent![/reread]
Haha, no no, they were great tips. I agree with the ace assemblies being a little drawn out- not as bad as the 21 card trick though eh

? I should've dealt the 3 cards face up and then turned them over too.
As far as misdirection is concerned, I was thinking along the lines of saying how aces are hard to control because they're light as a feather- see, they have barely any ink on them. Corny joke, but I get their eyes. Then I tell them I'll hold them down with three cards that are heavier.
Quick question, do gaff decks contain the "special cards" for McD's aces?
Thanks!
