An excellent hypnotist called andrew newton taught paul mckenna originally and andrew newton is a friend of Johnathon royle tis a small world..........

Hi again, Catweasel. It's rare I get a chance to talk to someone trained by Bandler himself! Royale does himself absolutely no favours at all with his "total sales" approach to pushing his stuff. It's uncouth and makes it look like a scam, especially given that hypnosis is about communication. All the talk about secrets and dodges look less than trustworthy. Can I ask who you studied hypnosis with and how their "straight" training compares to Royale's material? You see, at the moment, there's no way most people would buy it, so it looks like you're in a unique position to compare it.

...ive read the milton-erikson books (the bandler written ones), and recently read Wordweaving: The Science of Suggestion and Training Trances books...very good...

Another good one is Barton and Bodenhamer's "Hypnotic Language: Its Structure and Use". Not an easy read - about as dense as Wordweaving.

If you combine the anchoring stuff in Training Trances and the techniques built up in Wordweaving and Hypnotic Language with Brown's ideas about psychological forces, thre's no reason why you can't create a really ballsy thought reading act without ever going near a trance state

Ever reading "Deadly Mentalism"...there's cheeky little mind reading effect in there (got it from alakazam ages ago)...cant remember the guy who wrote it at the moment though...

Kinda has its base in (what is now seen as) NLP, banachek adds a nice little thought to it too....

asking someone to name their favourite film/piece of music/and a feeling theyve exprienced, and to pick one...then you can name which they are thinking of....nothing written down, nothing peeked at...nada...

very powerful...had alot of fun with it...

theres a nice off-centre tear in the book too...

I agree with you tomo - royles advertising does look cheap and nasty, but then his products are cheap if you buy them off eBay and I think to get a rounded view they are worth the money.
I would (at the risk of a linching )recommend any of his 10 DVD set courses from eBay approx £60 - £70

I don't like royles style particularly myself but he is a fountain of knowledge about the subject due to his own history and family connections. if you look into bandler's past you will find that he is certainly not 'squeaky clean' so the few dodgy thing's royle has done in his quest for fame are fairly insignificant imho.

btw bandler is worth the money - total genius, see him before its too late!
'the bandler effect' are a set of DVD's showing him doing changework with clients. although a little off topic for this forum they are an amazing chance to see him at work., he is a master of indirect hypnosis and you can pick up on what he is doing through repeated viewing although prior knowledge of nlp is essential - my friend dropped deep into that altered state we call sleep when he tried watching it!

i know royle is not to everyone's taste - i dont totally agree with him on the subject anyway but just like most magic books - if look deeply you can find a few gems!
