straight jacket

Postby magicmandy » May 11th, '06, 04:32

I know the subject of striagt jackets have been brought up in the forums before, and in my introduction. I looked up Dixie Dooley, [thanks btw]
But it isnt what I am looking for.
The magician knows how to perfom the Jacket part no problem.
He asked me to come up with some dance steps for his legs to do while he is escaping from the jacket. it is ment to be humerous the song he has picked is Right said Fred's " I'm to sexy" If it were me it would be easy, throw on some High hills and do some kicks. Being as he is male this doesnt really work. So I ask you all to invision yourselfs in a straight jacket dancing to this song. what happens next? Any ideas?

As I try to dance, I fall over my 2nd left foot and hit my face on the ground.

Alternatively... get some tap dancing shoes and learn some tap steps :D

Personally I think that would both look and sound pretty good...

You wont find much better anywhere and it's nothing - a rigmarole with a few bits of paper and lots of spiel. That is Mentalism

fall you say? hmm that might work.

our stage isnt really a stage. we do shows every saturday at a amuzment sort of atmostphere and unfortunatly on carpet. We do bigger corprate shows for companies and such, but never know if we are going to be on a stage.

I will teach you how to dance! lol on the interweb!

Haha... sounds fun :D

Personally I try not to dance if I can help it.
I really am the most atrocious dancer imaginable.

But because I'm a kind soul, I just made a video of some steps you could use.
I tried to send them to you in PM but it was too big.
Anywhere else I can send it to that you could view?

I certainly aint posting it openly :D

Hi Mandy,

You could try sending a message to Flash from this site, he does straight jacket stuff and humorous - he has a vid of him on his website. Failing that how about the John Cleese "Ministry of Silly Walks" from Monty Python?

I made my wife dissapear just by arguing with her!!!

Something along the lines of Michael Jackson's Moonwalk might look amusing. Poor magician all trussed up in the jacket and trying to walk off yet going backwards instead?

One other thing

It reminded me of this video I saw on the internet on this very talented guy doing a medley of the last 40 years of dance.
It's also quite funny:

Another random thought - Irish dancing is done with arms held straight down and immovable. How about getting the magish to do a bit of the ol' Riverdance/Michael Flatley stuff  ?

PS Excellent link greedoniz - once the adverts are done!

Well the adverts are an integral part to the link. Everytime someone watches the ad I get a free Honda Civic.

The irish dancing is a cracking idea though
