Electric touch by Yigal Meiska

Hi guys been watching in the wings for the past year thought I would let you guys know a bit about what I thought after using this gizmo

the spiel:
[i] have you ever felt an electric static shock? Imagine having that power at the tips of your fingers!

with a touch of your finger, make a regular flourescent bulb glow on and off at your command.

Create a telekenesis effect by making confetti jump up and down on a table!

you can transfer the electric static shock to your audience with free hands! no jacket, or any jewellery! no special liquids or creams! Totally Clean!

No skills necessary!

Turn the biggest sceptic into a beleiver!

Cost

around 100-150 squid- I bought mine through ellusionist but beware had a hefty customs charge slapped on!!

Difficulty

1 no sleights used

what i say

quite good quality kit. you get the unit which is smaller than a deck of cards and all necessary materials. also a dvd to guide you through basic setup

the major downside for this effect is the initial setup which requires you to permanently alter a peice of attire to make this feasible to perform in public. There is a way to perform a temporary setup but this would not be much use outside of the home. both setups are described quite clearly however on the dvd.
the permanent setup ( which I have not attempted yet) seems like quite a lot of hassle and I wrongly assumed that you could really just setup and go out of the box.
Electric touch also is better performed in dress shoes than trainers- another downer as I mainly wear trainers.
another downer is the amount of crackling this unit makes when activated. It is quiteloud and would definately be heard in a silent room. I have read a post by another user who had the same problem and used gel similar to that for TENS machines to help increase contact. He reports that this largely solved the problem but I have yet to try it so can not comment.
quite a few guys seem to be really worried about effects on pacemakers etc. I am a doctor and can tell you that it would almost be imposssible to cause any harm. all the blurbs about health effects etc are really just to cover the companies ass against any litigation.
the generated shock can also be affected by atmospheric conditions and flooring.

The pros- you are able to have complete control over the wonders of static electricity. this lends itself to endless effects and embellishments of old effect. with the rigtht presentation this could appear as real magic/ psychic ability. the shock themselves are quite minor and the unit has 2 settings hi and low. the high setting is comparable to when you brush up against someone and get an unexpected shock of static. it is worth noting that this often makes us jump because it is completely unexpected not really because of the power of the shock and you should utilise this principal to get maximum effect .
aside from actually shocking people you are able to perform a couple of other cool PK effects- making cigarette tobacco/ ash rise from a table to your fingers. You can also do this while holding onto someone elses hand making it seem like you have transferred your ethereal powers to them!
You can also transfer shock through metal objects. so if you are holding a spoon on handing it over to the spec you could shock them

I have not set this up premanently yet but can see it is an incredibly powerful tool to astound in the right hands. I saw Dynamo use the effect last night on CH4, and you can also see Kris Angel perform this- both get pretty good reactions.
main downside is the setup for permanent use. once setup can only be used with the attire it is setup with though you can buy accesories ( which are overpriced) so you can set this up on differnt attire.
priced about right- likely to ward off those who would use the effect indiscriminately.

Score

the actual effect would score 10/10 but taking into account setup- more like 7/10. some will like more than others.....
