You said that that's off Anytime Anywhere and i must say your count of the 4 aces is far superior to Sankey's count which looks horrible IMHO. Im going topractice that count again no and aim for your standard not his :)

I'm honoured.

Whilst it's difficult to do perfectly I don't think the biddle steal is a very difficult technique to slip by a spectator. Just as long as you keep a decent rhythm to it no-one will spot you.

Yes but the 2 for 4 looks awful when he does it, I watched your vid before reading the description and I thought there were aa least 3 any spec would have been convinced there were 4

oh, i thought you meant the biddle steal when I'm counting off the deck.

Personally I didn't think my 2 for 4 count was very good, but you'll be a better judge than me i suppose.

The steal was excellent as well - it was an all round well performed routine. The count though is by far the hardest thing there.

BTW you did actually perform all of it better than Jay.

PS does anyone else think, that while Sankey's products are great and his teaching, that sometimes he doesn't perform a sleight/trick to the standard you would expect from someone with his reputation?

Cheers,

If I'm honest, when I learnt the Departure Time rountine "way back when" I couldn't do the 2 for 4 count. So to get around it I just missed it out of the rountine. Since I've been including it the reactions from my speccies haven't changed any...it's just added another opportunity for error to the trick. I now decide on the moment whether I'm gonna bother with that count. It's more for me than anyone else as the speccies don't even notice it, it's just taken for granted that I have the four aces...and (as far as they're concerned) why wouldn't I?

That's a good point. In reallity you are just arousing suspision - they've just seen 4 aces.

Oz Pearlman comments on this. In the biddle trick he doesn't count the cards he says, "I don't know whether your card is the first, second, third etc. - a reason for the count.

Unless you c**k it up the 2 for 4 count will never detract from the effect (and I don't think it would in the Born To Perform "Biddle trick" either) regardless of whether you have a reason. The speccie will generally assume that it's something you're doing to make them understand what is happening. As the magician you have an invested interested in making sure the speccie understands what you are doing and I think most spectators will understand this extra effort.

However, between my opinion and Oz Pearlman's - I'd take his until you're in a position (which you may already be) to make your own decision. Then you can argue your own point and let people make their own decision also.
