Tell you what Alex, I'm gonna go experiment with setting cards on fire in my garden now, i'll try differnt methods.

[Edit] Well After Burning Myself twice with a stupid zippo because of freak winds, i gave up. Even with a card soaked in lighter fluid it doesn't damn catch very well. Just having the lighter near it dried the damn thing out! And tissue paper didn't work with me either.[/Edit]

real problem is is the coating on the card are kid of water resistant so try getting a very fine needle and syringe and injecting a small bubble of lighter fluid from the edge of the of the card down to the middle (but be gentle ) and remember you dont need tonnes a very small amout will do as ones the lighter burns thru the coating the fluid will burn in to ther card in a few seconds

PCWIZME thats me!!

Need a prop? have an idea for a trick but cant work it out? Ask me via PM and ill have a look for you

I used a stunt where a card selected ends up in an envelope covered in "tissue paper" (flash paper) for protection. Explaining how the card now possesed super-natural qualities, I would demonstrate this by setting fire to the "tissue".

"And that's just from touching the card for a few moments!" I would explain to the stunned punter.

I used this stunt until Sunday night when the flash paper set off the restaurant's fire alarm and the place had to be evacuated. Who said magic wasn't a dangerous profession!

...if you used a card with high amounts of negative space/white on it, say a two and cut yourself a template out of flash paper and then attach it to the card - couldn't you then set-fire to the card (well, in fact the flash-paper part) and then show the card unharmed?

obviously you'd use a duplicate for the force itself...
