Black Deck tips

Postby bronz » May 15th, '06, 17:31

Hello all, I just bought a Black Tiger deck at the weekend and thought I'd make an enquiry. In addition to the deck I got a couple of gimmick cards, a 3 of clubs with a normal face and an ace of spades with the spade in the centre slightly offset. I was expecting this as I'd read on Ellusionist (I think) that the deck came with these extras but it also said that there would be instructions for specific effects involving these which weren't present with my deck. Are the extra cards just there for you to play with as you see fit or am I correct in thinking they're included with particular tricks in mind? Ta.

Back in the day when I first got my deck, there were no instructions either. This is a good thing in my opinion as it forced me to come up with my own presentation.

My routine involves a colour change and lots of blag and blarney. But because it is individual to me it rocks my audience every time. I can pm it to you if you'd like but personally I think you'd be better working out your own ideas.

Alternatively get one of the books available from NUMS and Ellusionist on the subject.

Flash has performed his trick to me and my girlfriend and I have to say it's great.
But like he says, it's his trick, it's come from him and plays directly off who he is as a person.

Therefore the strongest tricks you could do with the deck would be one you came up with yourself.

Alternatively, force the negative 3 of clubs, do Triumph and have the card revealed as the only card face up in a face down deck, and also is now just a regular card. Could get a nice reaction I guess

You wont find much better anywhere and it's nothing - a rigmarole with a few bits of paper and lots of spiel. That is Mentalism

Thanks guys, I was thinking along those lines anyway. I've been working out a plot about developing photographs, using the 'negative' deck as an example then 'developing' the 3 of clubs. Flash I'd be interested to hear your trick though, if you'd like to pm me. Thanks again.
