Clearing up the Houdini Change.

Postby Pitto » May 15th, '06, 19:57

To quote Roberto Giobbi in Card College Volume 3:

"This color change is the invention of the legndary escape artist Harry Houdini, although it has often been mistakedly attributed to S.W. Erdnase, due to his fuller and more visual description of the sleight in 'Expert at the Card Table'"

Just thought that might help :)

It was my understanding that Houdini never actually put it into print, hence why most people cite "Expert at The Card Table" for the move, as that was the first place it was formally published.

All the best,

I don't know much about it but everytime it is shown/discussed the question comes up so I thought I'd post what Roberto Giobbi had to say.
