The actual effect Gut Buster is fantastic. Guessing how it's done comes nowhere close to the actual props and DVD supplied.
You get full working methods and quality props to enable you to perform the basic effect, plus the DVD not only teaches the main performance, but also an 'unplugged' version which uses no props at all.
Andrew Mayne has gone the whole 9 yards in making this something which is very workable, and for his efforts, a little courtesy could be shown.
Guessing or revealing how effects work, no matter how simple, is a basic breach of the unwritten Magician's Code. When you decide to practice the art of Magic, you are respectfully expected to be bound by this code to protect your fellow magicians.
Creating new and exciting magic is very hard work, and something which a lot of time and effort goes into. It's neither impressive nor ethical to openly expose secrets in public, as this not only harms the credibility and reputation (not to mention the finances) of the authoring magicians, but it also harms future creativity.
Think before you write!
