Blaine's NEXT stunt

Postby archimage » May 16th, '06, 17:42

American illusionist David Blaine, who failed to break the world record for holding his breath underwater last week, has announced his next stunt will be living among wild animals in the jungle. The 33-year-old was released from a New York City hospital last week, after spending seven days in a spherical aquarium. Blaine needed medical treatment after suffering convulsions and passing out while attempting to hold his breath for nine minutes. But the magician has already moved on to planning his next stunt, claiming the challenge is more unbelievable than anything he has attempted before. He tells the New York Post, "I'm planning to live harmoniously among wild beasts. And I'd like to do it alone in the jungle."

David Blaine wrote:"alone in the jungle."
So that would be just him, 47 TV cameras, at least 80 representatives of the world's media and about 300 staff and technicians. Hmmm he could get very lonely  !

...he could swallow some mini-cameras with some kind of transmitter nearby, so when the wildlife eat him at least we could see what limbs go where...

torn and restored blaine...the new effect that hopefully the masked magician will reveal...simply add tiger...

can you buy tigers from e-bay? if you can i bet if you ordered one - they'd turn out to be a kitten with a paint-job...

Haha! We can only hope! But this sounds like the dumbest one of all of them...I'm a big Blaine fan...don't get me wrong...but I think his "stunts" are complete wastes of time. The only thing it brings is new tricks for us...

Thanks,

Not me Rob, I have no idea about a transmission date. There was a post where a chap from the US referred to the special and I mentioned we didn't get that - just the news casts. I'd be interested to hear if and when it's due to be shown here, as much as I don't like these stunts, David Blaine can still perform some decent card and coin tricks when he puts his mind to it.

from another forum about blaine last special and this one i feel the same way about his new stunt he wants to pursue
Sounds like a colossal YAWN, to me!

nothing new just doing something crazy and some magic. Why can he be called a magician if he just does stunts and only some magic!

Actually it's his way of saying that the Network cancelled his next special and the only airtime he can get is if he becomes a participant in the next Survivor series.

I only hope the poor animal that eats the lad don't get too serious an indigestion problem.... then too, I hope that Siegfred offers that particular critter a very nice home in Vegas

OK guys,

i've been looking around on the internet to find out when the stunt will be shown on British TV. And guess what... i've found it!!!

The TV special will be a 2 hour special shown on ITV Saturday 27th May 2006 from 9.45pm - 11.45pm (from www.radiotimes.com)

I seriously cant wait for this David Blaine Special. I think his magic is great and his stunts can be cool too.

I'm really looking foreward to this :D

just so you know in the new special Blaine does like 15 minutes of magic in his new special and then he is in the big bubble for the last period and you just listen to stories on how blaine got up to this point and went to through training to do the stunt.

Not to rain on your parade guys....but during the whole 2 hour long special, Blaine only does 8 tricks the rest is just hype for the stunt at the end
