Thanks Tom.

I do like to perform this but my latest problem is with the time taken to reset it while leaving one table to go to another table.

The main problem here is that in a working environment I need to keep an eye on the correct time and wearing 2 watches would look odd

The best solution I have so-far found is to ask someone what the correct time is after performing the trick and to then just set the minute hand only. As when performing the trick no-one needs to know what the time is on my watch at the beginning, they just naturally assume it is on the correct hour.

Hope this helps.

Valentino

I agree with Valentino... when producing the watch, it actually matters not what the time is anyway.

I've never bothered to do a re-set to the exact time, to be honest.

Point in question: is it really that important to show the real time at the start?

No, I don't think so. Considering the nature of the effect. Plus, presentationally, the patter could even support this...

"It's my old grandfather's watch, taken from the wrist of a dead soldier..." type of blah. This way, you can even state that it "works when it wants to, is a terrible timekeeper, but has an uncanny and eerie knack of setting to a chosen time..."

Only a thought.

Another point on not having two watches, there is no need as most mobile phones also display the time.

8) 8) 8)
why not combine this trick with the haunted key both psycometric type of tricks, then one trick can influence the other ie you can transfer the force from the key to the wach or vice versa.

Tom, I love your idea of the alternate presentation to enable a reset. What Kind of reaction have you had when performing it this way? Has anyone commented "it's a trick watch" when presenting it this way?

Having finally got my own Time Machine now they are less than £50, I've been playing with it and really like it.

Rather than the traditional routine I've used it to get the spec to read my mind ie I set a time and try and transmit this thought to the spec. Anyone else used it like this?
