Roughing Fluid

Postby trickyricky » May 18th, '06, 15:19

Hi guys.
Does anyone know of a good way to remove roughing fluid from 2 cards? well, not entirely remove it but make it so that theres less on? The cards that im talking about i think have a little too much on and they tend too stick instead of just 'rough' together. Sorry, couldnt think of the right word for what they do, but if you have used roughing fluid you should know what i mean. Ive tried rubbing them together which works for a while but when i put the back in the packet they start sticking again.

Any ideas?

Rich

Yeh, I've had this trouble. I just rub the back of each card on the edge of my desk, and then on a towel. Its usually enough to loosen the roughing, and then remove it. Should leave you enough though to keep them gripping.
Hope that helps.

Try just rubbing them against each other - worked for me too well on my invisideck!

Thanks for your replies! I think ive sorted it out now by just going through the invisideck (which is what i was making) and just seprating the cards a few times. Any that stuck i rubbed on the desk, and now it works fine!

Yeah i made my own invisideck. Its a green backed bicycle one! Thought i had better make one because it looks suspicious when you swap your green deck for a blue invisideck! I've also made a brainwave deck with green back, and their chosen card is black, if you know what i mean. If anyone wants me to make them one, £4 for invisidecks, £5 for brainwaves, inc. postage!

Glad that you've sorted this out.

A lot of poeple seem to have this porblem (not all that post here) and my view is that too often people put the cards together before they have had a chance to really dry out properly.

One you're treated your cards the fluid / spray can often appear dry to the touch within about 5 minutes when in reality they're not! You only need a light coating and you then need to let them dry out for a good hour to make sure.

If you do this then I think that you will find that the problem is resolved.

enjoy

One of the very old threads on this topic suggested that the cards be treated sometime during the evening and left undisturbed overnight. Next morning you….leave them alone. At lunchtime time you….leave them alone some more. After evening meal then you can carefully check to see if they're dry enough to be used. If not leave them another 24 hours.

The other advice is to LIGHTLY coat the deck.

Several LIGHT sprays is better than a total monsoon. You can get a deck ready in about 2 hours if you're sparing, rather than liberal, with the spray.

Another top-tip... DON'T put the cards on the dining table etc or anywhere else unless you KNOW that your cats/dogs/kittens are securely kept AWAY from your cards!
