Greetings and welcome to the Happy Toad! (I saw a little fairy at the bottom of our garden the other day, she was sitting on a toadstool. The toad was very happy indeed!). Anyway, if you feel you can share your alternative routine, please do so - I tend to use TV programmes although I'm not that good at remembering those either!

Thanks for the welcome Mandrake.

My routine is still being developed, but it's based around a picture rather than a word. I tell them that as people tend to think in pictures it's easier for a beginner at mind reading to pick it up, rather than a word. I might add that if they really want to make it difficult they could put a short word under the picture.

My one difficulty is that when I peek, it's sometimes upside down. This was a particular issue one of the first times I did it and was using a four digit number, the person chose 6666 and I thought it was 9999

Inadvertently reading numbers upside down can be a pain! How about you draw a line on the card and ask then to write their number on the line? That way, at least you'll know where the bottom of the numbers is positioned and you can also make sure the writing is centred as well.

Yea Mandrake,

though the problem is caused more by the way the person turns the card over. So I need to be noting the front of the business card so I can tell if they have turned it upside down.

I know what you mean - it takes ages to untwist your eyeballs afterwards!

The other thing to be aware of is that there are actually two places to slide the card. One is very good. One is very bad. Believe me, you only ever put it in the bad place once.

For the life of me I can't see the "really bad" place, on the other hand, maybe that's a good thing :D

It's there, believe me - it's there alright! You'd probably only go there by accident or when under great pressure or distraction. Look 'under' the good place and you'll see it. If you put something in there to start with it will serve to indicate where not to go.

Stealth Wallet

Postby Johnny » Aug 20th, '04, 19:33

Just bought the Stealth wallet from www.magicshop.co.uk - thought you guys would like to know it's on special offer at only £16.99!!!! A bargain! Received it today, I'm really happy with it. Looks good, can't wait to try it out!

Originally though, I thought I could 'peek' as the card, paper, etc. was being put into the wallet - I didn't realise that I'd need an excuse to open up the wallet again.... does anyone find that the spec thinks this a bit suspicious?

I really can't wait to try this out!
