Eurovision... Good?

Postby Flash » May 20th, '06, 21:35

Oh my god... I hate to admit it but this years Eurovision song contest is... pretty d**n good!! What is occuring?

So far they've had some rather foxy young euro-ladies (ding-dong Ukraine), demons singing about the Rockopalycpse from Finland and a Buster Bloodvessel/Madness number from Lithuania!! I am shocked! It really is worth watching!

Thank god for the UK's and Ireland's entry lowering the standard, I was starting to get worried I was in a parallel universe.

No you're right, I'm pretty sure I'm in LaLa land right now. You see giant birds are dancing now on the screen and parrots are fighting human oppression (or some such rot).

Thank god that rather fine lady host has returned (those parrots gave me the heebie jeebies).

Which one had the heavy rock song? That was pretty good! Makes a change from all the songs about changing the world with love anyway!

Gotta watch it for Wogan's voice-overs though.

Finland.. But I still can't believe it ... I actually voted for them, I've never voted for a eurovision song in my life (I almost voted Ukraine but managed to control my hormones for a minute)!

Eeuch, heavy rock. Not my kettle of fish really, but congrats to them anyway...

ah no i voted "YES" by accident, I agree with you Flash, it was great. Lordi were fantastic (or 'amazing' ). They were really exciting compared to most of the other entries which were pretty boring.

A pretty memorable eurovision on if you ask me.

Much better than in recent years but it's all so political and rather predictable they could have published the votes before the songs. Nevertheless with a couple of exceptions the artiste(s) didn't just sing, they performed and made it all very visual. A lesson for Magi there perhaps?

Quite right Mandrake, as we very speak in an attempt to emulate the victorious artistes I'm applying copious amounts of make up to my face and putting on a ridiculous costume...

(er.. Joan Collins did win.. right)?

I love Lithuania's song, "We are the winners.." I wonder why we didn't give any point to them. :(
Seems like people still sending votes for countries, not for the songs.

Hmmm... It's currently pretty drawn on the poll, any more views on whether my marbles have slowly rolled away under the skirting board?

(this poll only has another two days to run and I'm still no wiser to the state of my brainbox)!!!

... well this thread has certainly put the 'ding' back in my 'dong'.

Or is it that other way around ? I'm getting very confused here.

Nurse, nurse .....!
