There are so many variations of TT that it's really down to what you consider to be 'good'! Some folks prefer soft and flexible whilst others prefer something firmer (OK, I know that sounds filthy but do get a grip!). If you're disposing of lighted cigarettes than hard and firm is probably better. Not being in London I can't advise much but, assuming you don't want to risk mail order from our e-magictricks hosts, then try International Magic (a web search will get the full address etc) and they will probably let you try a few out in the shop.

emagictricks.co.uk are currently showing a large selection of various types in stock for *very* reasonable prices.

It's quite often wise to have a few thumbtips kept in your stocks, as during performances they DO get grubby and marked - especially the harder plastic ones.

There are currently hybrids available too, I believe, which are hard in construction but with a soft rubber tip. I will be probably adding some to my arsenal, so I will offer any more I can to this thread in due course.
