3 shells game....

Postby IAIN » May 22nd, '06, 15:15

I forgot how much i loved the little devils, found it at the bottom of a drawer at work and thankfully i've still got the moves in my mind...

asking a spectator to place a glass over the shell with the pea in it too, onlly for it to reappear under another is still a good little laugh...

i wouldnt mind making my own set - any recommendations? apart from "buy some walnuts..." any tips on how to crack them open without shattering them? bearing in mind peas, sorry - please i havent access to a vice or anything...

Aaah the schoolboy rush of adrenelin when you can crack them in your mitts (the walnuts, not the peas)...

I've seen small white ceramic bowls of about the same size as walnut shells in Tescos. They're filled with coloured wax and a wick and sold as fragrant room candles or something like that but there were 6 to a box for a very measly sum. Once emptied of wax they'd be great for shells & peas.

Have a look in case they have some suitable egg cups, opaque shot glasses, or possibly those little single jiggers for measuring spirits.
