Is there a site where I can find out more or does anyone know about this convention?

Like pricing, times, location, etc etc.

I just don't want to to miss out on it, its about 2 weeks after my birthday so its a good excuse for my parents to take me :D

There is indeed! Check out http://www.ipswichmagicalsociety.co.uk/ and information will be posted nearer the time. A little birdie tells me that the line up this year will be even more gobsmacking than before!

Trust me - I have it on very good authority that it will be well worth it and Oz isn't the only well known Magician on the bill!

Bananafish would be the best person to ask - I think registrations are possible from end August/early September but can't be too sure. The price last year was about £25 including the evening show and food during the day, but the cost may have gone up a bit since then. This would cover the lectures by visiting magi, the close-up sessions, access to the dealers (last year there were 7 or 8 dealers) and of course the evening gala show. 10am until late and worth every penny IMHO because it's a very friendly day and the visiting magi are happy to talk and sell their stuff, demo effects and routines. The lectures are worth it on their own so I reckon the shows are a pure bonus!

PS I'm not connected to the IMS or on commission - just in case you were wondering!

Mandrake is right - tickets will be £25 which includes the gala show.

Fingers crossed, but it looks like Oz Pearlman isnt the only really special guest we will have this year. We have two other very big names lined up as well. I wont say anything more at the moment, but this years convention will be very special...

He's also coming to our club in Ashford, which I've just rejoined after a few years absence. Sounds like it'll be October, but no one's that excited cos Paul Daniels is coming in October or November!

Just out of interest Blasping who would you like to see? maybe I can arrange that for future years.

As for our other two guests it looks like we will be getting Paul Daniels and Roy Davenport.

Roy is from the famous Davenport dynasty, and is one of those traditional magicians that just ooze pure magic, very much in the Scott Penrose catagory.

Paul Daniels obviously needs no introduction and and it will be great to have him around all day. He will be giving the star lecture, plus he will be one of the 4 close up magicians for the close-up session and then of course he will do the second half of the evening gala show. I have been lucky enough to see Paul perform live several times now and I can tell you if you havent already seen him (or even if you have) you willl be in for a great treat.

You'll like him (not a lot, but you'll like him)

wow - that sounds amazing!

lol - well in answer to your question the 2 magicians are on the scale with oz pearlman - surprising to see and american :P

these are gregory wilson (my all time favourite) and jay sankey (cuz he is similar to me in many ways - cruddy sense of humour, and someone who i find hilarious!)

i doubt i would ever meet them - but if I could, i would be eternally thankful lol
