forgive me if this is old hat, but I just bought a bunch of stuff from here for magical use and I'm very impressed with the price and quality. Check it out www.shop4tools.co.uk/acatalog/Neodymium_Magnets.html

:D

Comparison:
Shop4Tools 2"x2"x1", + VAT & Shipping = £39.50

NUMS MONSTER Bertha 2"x2"x1", plus 2 booklets, wrist strap, gaffed matches, gaffed sharpie, selection of 10 other magnets, TT etc. etc. = £55 INCLUDING shipping (so long as your basket doesn't go too heavy, the Monster package is only 700g, less than the 1kg limit!)

Thanks for the tip, Alan. And judging by the images on that site, I know exactly where they get their magnets from too ;)

I've just posted the 'penultimate' stock Monster actually... so I will be needing to get some more in stock!

I've been allowing extra time when shipping these because feedback suggests they are taking a while to go through the postal system... up to 3 days. Not sure if they scan strangely or something!

The actual box I ship them can't withold the power, and I've even picked up Monster boxes which have paperclips stuck to the outside! So whether Royal Mail is wondering why they are adhered to the inside of the postbox, we may never know!

They're probably being put to one side and X-rayed.

I've just ordered a similar "item"... I was going to order from the place in Sheffield but found another place - they're out of stock supposedly but he had one left. 2x2x1/2 inch, N45... £23.34 inc. postage! Bit of a winner there, I reckon.

Are there any books on PK effects? I have my neo ring and will soon have a "strap-on" (!) - Just need some good tricks to do now!

heheheheh...

You want effects etc?

That's why the MONSTER Bertha exists: you're not just paying for the ITEM... you are paying for an ALL ROUND PK PACKAGE... shims, ready-gaffed items, 2 books with 10 effects, ideas, etc.

Glad you found the item so cheaply. It's half the size of a Monster Bertha (the MONSTER is 2"x2"x1". and approximately twice as strong as a 1/2 inch version).
Let's just hope buying the necessary other stuff doesn't break your budget!

The trials of being a poor lowly student, eh?!

I did realise it wouldn't be the biggest beast out there, but has a very slightly higher rating than the MB (ie. N45 to N42) and to be honest, the M5 (to which it is more akin) is still a respectable PK piece! Plus, you can always stack 'em - if I decide it's not quite as powerful as I need, I can always wait until next term's loan comes through and whack another one on top!

Seige - Is there any chance of purchasing the Monster Bertha accessory kit but without the magnet? Could do with the strap that it has!

Thanks, Rich

What on earth is the monster bertha?? Never heard of it - can anyone give me a link? Magnets look very interesting - nice to find a cheap resource once in a while (not that I actually have any money)
