What has happened to that odd character that was known earlier on as Mark Lewis? Why is it that he left several questions unanswered? Why is it that he departed from this thread in such haste without having the common courtesy to bid us all farewell? Possibly the Great Mark Lewis has something to hide... Possibly he has been reprimanded by the Ellusionist police for revealing too much about Brad Christian’s earlier years... Maybe those comments about him hugging his old Canadian friend have hit a little too close to home... I would say that much has been left to the imagination of future readers of this thread !

Costas,

some say he was booted, others suggest he did a runner... anyway, before he left he did manage to "squeeze" in a reference to his web page... so commercial, i think he's forgotten it's about the art! i can see why he doesn't fancy the E web site, it's erm... much better.

anyway, i am contemplating doing a review of Mark's web site and his wonderful "spiral bound" book (never judge a book by it's cover) plus his hocus pocus tarot and fortune telling mumbo jumbo...

i may even do a review on the so called "world's greatest svengali routine" and the "presentation" thereof. you can find a video of said routine on his site. we'll see if i can find the time.

I see that the two rather silly Australians on this forum are missing me and are making a rather obvious attempt to bring me back for their own amusement.

As for my website I am barely aware that I have one. In fact I am not quite sure what a website actually is. Neither am I entirely sure what it is for.
I did not design it or even ask for it. It was foisted upon me whether I liked it or not with remarks about "getting into the 21st century"

I do not recall saying anything negative about Brad's website or indeed anything at all concerning it. I suppose this inaccuracy is simply a further manifestation of what happens when you walk around upside down all day and the effect this has on the brain.

Furthermore I cannot accept "reviews" from people who do not capitalise where capitalisation is necessary. Very sloppy writing if I may say so. And I do.

Mark,

first of all, thanks to the Mods i lobbied to let you back in!

ah welcome back Mark (cApItAlIzZzAtIoN of the "M" for you!). so you like Brad's website then??? go out on the limb with a simple yes or no...

anyway:

i knew you'd bite. yr svengali routine is very sharp. just when i thought it was done... it had more to offer. you need to work a little on ending sentences on a higher Octave than you start with, it comes across a little "whiny". but overall, the execution is wonderful and i could only dream of having that amount of skill with a svengali (sincere).

fellow forumers:
to see this most impressive performance of Svengali... visit this link:
http://www.marklewisentertainment.com/h ... eshow.html

scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and then click on:
Click here to see Mark do a card trick.
(May take a moment to download...please be patient.)
(Real Media Player required)

then post your score out of 10 (1 being poor - 10 being outstanding).

i give it a solid 9.5 deducting .25 for a minor mishandling towards the end and a further .25 for the somewhat "whiny" audio commentary!

Bobby, I am really looking forward to your review :D it should be a good one! Don’t worry Mark, you’re in good hands! This guy knows how to write up a very detailed and honest review.

I must also apologize to you Mr Lewis but our friend Bobby is quite right in his comment about the way you slipped in that reference to your web site and just left. That was a little too American for a self-proclaimed Scotsman! I think you have been hugging their Canadian cousins for too long!

I am also curious as to why you keep avoiding my straightforward questions. I mean no malevolence by them and yet you seem to be discourteously ignoring them. Perhaps you are dyslexic or maybe I have accidentally typed the words upside down which could stem from the awkward physical orientation I have developed while living here in Australia.

EDIT: Sorry Bobby, I should have refreshed this page - I didn't notice you had already posted a review! Well Done!

Hi Bobby,

I had visited his site and complimented him on his svengali routine quite a while ago. But it would be funny if you grabbed hold of his book and did a full review on it! That would make my day !

Anyway, here is my quick review:
I would give his svengali routine an 8.5 but because Mr Lewis has been acting quite impolitely by ignoring my questions I will subtract 9 points for attitude, which leaves us with a total of –0.5. You may try and purchase this item at the aforementioned website the only problem is that Mr Mark Lewis does not know that his website exists so you may get no response when you try and make a purchase :D !

Speaking of Ellusionist :? or weren't we... anyway, I am about to reply to your other post regarding their new card clips !

Now now chaps, whilst it's perfectly evident that he's not the most popular fellow around here, Mark Lewis is a very experienced magician.

We'd probably find that if we stopped fighting with him, we may be able to learn a thing or two about magic from him (especially given his love of sharing his "most excellent" advice).

I have no doubt the svengali routine is very good, and whilst I wouldn't buy it myself, what with not owning a svengali deck nor being particularly curious about them, I'm sure it's a great routine.

Even Seige stocks it!

No matter what you think of the character that Mr Lewis has created for himself, i can assure you that his book is stunning. It is a fantastic routine that i read a long time ago. Very much worth every penny

Having watched the svengali routine I can say my view of Mark Lewis as a magician hasn't changed.

He's a very talented magician.
What a shame he's made himself somewhat of a hate figure around here
