I decided to make a new one since there are already so many and i didnt know in which one to post my opinion on.

I see so much blaine bashing for this magic, but i dont really see that much support for his stunts. I personally like him for his stunts than his magic.

Being able to mentally, psyisically, and spiratually strong takes great admiration from me. My favorite was Vertigo, it was the shortest but wow. i think it's because the first stunt of his i watched.

This past drowned alive, many laugh for his failure, but c'mon over 7minutes and living in an hydro enviroment for a week. He might have had all this training and preperation, but any common sensed person would do the same.

I have mixed views about Blaine, like I have said before, some of his stuff is good but some I really just can't be bothered with. Some of the things he puts his body through, in my mind is just mad and pointless. A normally fit person with the right training could do those stunts. Maybe I am mad to compare this to him but I have a friend who swims and is quite good she can do 4 lengths of a olympic size pool without taking a breath. Any swimmer will tell you this is hard work but my point is it took training for her to do this, like some of Blaines stunts. I know one could argue anything can be done with training but this is just my view and I know many people will disagree with my view, thats why its called a view.

Magic is real, just look around you, some of the most amazing things have no reason, no explanation but are very real.

Try posting in another forum, like:

Maybe you can find more David Blaine´s fans there.

Good luck!

I like David Blaine's magic tricks but sometimes his stunts can be a little tedious cause it appears that he's attention seeking (which is probably why some people hate him) but his tricks are entertaining to watch and get a reaction out of people

I like his magic, but I'm not a big fan of his stunts.
Not just his though, I just don't get excited over stunts in general.

Have you ever thought he might be doing his "stunts" for the vast amount of money he recieves?

Posts by denis-h have been deleted as the titles to the messages were disrespectful to a professional magician and are therefore not in accord with Forum policy. Subsequent posts in response have also been removed as they made no sense after deletion of the original one referred to  !

Blaine did something many other professional magicians never thought to do, he turned the camera around and showed the Reaction to the effect, and I think this showed the true charm and power of magic, it’s not about the magician, it’s about the audiences reaction. Blaine is great in my book.

Actually, I am sure that Paul Zenon was doing it a fair few years before him?

Blaine does some good magic but it's his presentation that I just don't like. Too dry and hum-drum for me (I know that's what he is going for but I still don't like it). His stunts I just find appalling. For instance, his stunt in the cage where he was going to go without food. His choice of words including "torture" and "starvation" just rubbed me the wrong way especially when we see POWs and others who are actually being "tortured" and are "starving." He's just a big media hound to me and personally that is why I don't like him. But on the positive side he does have his fans and he has helped make magic very popular.
